I Forgot My Coat

I heard this track by Laura Mvula on BBC Radio 2 while driving around in the car with Ieu and really enjoyed it so I've downloaded her album and have been binging her songs recently.

Each night I've been waking up on the sofa bed in the early hours after trying to watch movies. Ieu came over and we all watched The Descent while I fell asleep. Not because it was bad. It was good from what I can remember. I did manage to watch half of Misery though and watched the second half in the morning before work.

After one of the hottest days in July ever, we were planning to go for a walk over the mountain to catch some Pokemon, but the weather had already started dying down. We instead went to the sea wall in Newport to hunt. I was definitely the only one there in shorts too. We also went for a meal at Harvester where even our waiter was playing it in between serving customers.

I recently went to a Twisted Ankle gig at The Stag in Bristol where I saw one of the best line-ups in a while. New Cowboy Builders opened, Heil Zilla were on next, Twisted Ankle after that and a band called Doctor Nut headlined. People had told me they were a kind of comedy band that played songs about wizards and elves and it got me curious. Fuck me. It was hysterical and incredibly compelling. Everybody, and I mean everybody was going nuts. Doctor nuts. Check this out for a very vague idea.

Kim is away for a week on Friday, so I have the whole house to myself. I'll always say it's nice as we're always together anyway. Having a week to myself means I can catch up on personal projects, get stuff tidy and just have more time to myself in general. I'm hoping to focus more on getting money in control over the next week. Maybe make a website for it.

In other news, my auntie Kim's dog Joey had to be put to sleep on Wednesday evening. After what I went through with Flo, I can't imagine what it's like for her. Especially with John passing away last year. Joey was such a loyal dog, but he wouldn't mind stealing your chair if you'd gotten up out of it. I'm really gonna miss him every time I go up Kim's and he's not running about between people's legs.
